Sobah Plum Alcohol-free
You may not have come across beer producer Sobah before but they are Australia’s first non-alcoholic craft beer company that was created five years ago by Clinton and Lozen Schultz. Their mantra … to “champion Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, native foods and well-being, and through our unique range of brews”.
Since their creation, Sobah has gone on to produce ten different non-alcoholic beers including a pilsner, stout, IPA, and the one I tried today, a plum GF ale.
This particular gluten-free beer is designed to bring to life a balance of sweet and tart flavours to create an aromatic and refreshing beer.

Is Sobah Plum Alcohol-free any good?
Taste
Wow, this is a pretty tasty non-alcoholic beer. I didn’t know what to expect when cracking open a can of Sobah but I found it to be a fruity and hoppy flavoursome beer. You certainly get a decent balance of tartness from the plum and there is a subtly sweet backdrop that helps to balance the drink. Overall a refreshing beer that would be a perfect partner at a summer BBQ.
Aroma & Appearance
When you open up a can of Sobah plum ale you get aromas of sour red fruits mixed with hops. In the glass the beer has a cloudy pink/ amber colour and low frothy head.
Additional info
This non-alcoholic beer is less than 0.5% ABV and will be suitable for both gluten-free and vegan drinkers. Availability-wise it isn’t the most common ale to find so your best bet is to hunt down a can from an online specialist.
