LOW NO DRINKER MAGAZINE

Low No Drinker is, as the title explains, a magazine for those who choose a lifestyle without minimal alcohol. Its full of content around non-alcoholic drinks including reviews, recipes and interesting info from the world of NA drinking – designed for the ‘sober curious’.

I came across this magazine when I was Instagram and I saw a comment from their leading editor Denise. I reached out to her and hey-presto a copy of Lo No popped through my letterbox.

This is the first sector-specific publication I have come across before and as such, after reading it (issue 8) I wanted to give my unbiased review.

What can you expect inside Low No Drinker?

This particular copy of Low No Drinker had an interesting variety of articles across its 70+ pages. All articles were well written with some great imagery and photography to help break up the narrative.

Overall there were twenty different contributors who each seemed to have a level of experience/ interest in a non-alcoholic topic (maybe I’ll be chosen one day by Denise #hinthint). I particularly liked the piece around ‘dry’ celebs (including references on Brad Pitt, 50 Cent and Steve Jobs).

There was also a great article on various ‘bittersweet’ mocktail recipes and as a regular MyDryBar readers are aware I have a penchant for non-alcoholic aperitifs. It was good to see the inclusion of Spritz-ish and Lyre’s but there were also a couple of brands I’ve not come across before and need to hunt down including Botivo and Citizen Spritz.

And here’s a great stat I read in the magazine, according to a food navigator poll, just under 80% of respondents said “they no longer felt and social stigma when ordering low/no drinks in a public venue” – a big change to my experience from pubs in the 1990’s!
