Pico Bello Non-alcoholic IPA review
DRINK SUMMARY
Name – Pico Bello
Type – non-alcoholic IPA
Alcohol content – 0.3%
MyDryBar Rating– 68/100
Drink review – This non-alcoholic IPA beer has plenty of hoppy flavours but (like Pico Nova) it is a bit too bitter for my liking. Does pour with a great frothy head. Not a bad non-alcoholic IPA at all.
Pico Bello is a non-alcoholic IPA brewed by BBP (aka The Brussels Beer Project), Belgian’s first craft brewers.
Over a year ago I reviewed another BBP beer – Pico Nova – which was a pretty decent beer. As such I was excited when I came across Pico Bello on Alcohol Free Co’s site.
Pico Bello was designed from scratch to provide zesty IPA flavours (thanks to Amarillo, Citra and Ekuanot hops) and balanced with sweet malt flavours.
So the question is does Pico Bello match up to Pico Nova and achieve a good score? Well, you’ll just need to read my review below to find out.
Is Pico Bello any good?
Taste
This is quite a tasty beer. It isn’t my favourite non-alcoholic IPA I’ve ever had but still has some punchy bitter hop flavours I look for in this type of beer; if anything I found the bitterness to be a bit too overwhelming! That said its another decent beer from the team at BBP.
Aroma & Appearance
The hops dominate the aroma when you open a can of Pico Bello but there are some background malty notes. In the glass you can see it pours with a pale amber look and a really good frothy head.
