Drink review – Non-alcoholic Kingfisher is a decent substitute for the alcoholic version. It has some tasty malty and hop notes but does lack body. Still, a good choice to accompany an Indian meal.
Kingfisher feels like one of those beers that have been around for decades … and in fact, it has! Back in 1978, United Breweries Group launched Kingfisher in India becoming India’s highest-selling beer. In the UK, in the 80s and 90s, Kingfisher became synonymous with Indian restaurants and is now brewed under licence by Heineken. Earlier this year Kingfisher launched their non-alcoholic version, Kingfisher Zero.
With the increase in popularity of non-alcoholic drinking, and with other large breweries making alcohol-free versions it isn’t a surprise that Kingfisher launched Zero. Just like its alcoholic version, Kingfisher Premium, this beer only uses natural ingredients for its creation and then has the alcohol removed prior to bottling it.

Is Non-alcoholic Kingfisher Any Good?
Taste
Alcohol-free Kingfisher had a very similar flavour profile to the alcoholic version. You get decent mouthfuls of sweet and then bitter notes thanks to the hops used. Although the carbonation is spot on, the finish lacks body and to be honest is a little watery. Overall though if you enjoyed Kingfisher and wanted a non-alcoholic version then this is a decent beer.
Aroma & Appearance
When you pop open a bottle of non-alcoholic Kingfisher you can expect some heady malty notes. In the glass it pours with a light amber look but a rather lacklustre head.
