Drink review – Days Brewing has created a refreshing alcohol-free lager and it’s certainly one you should try out. I had this with a burger and it paired well with the salty fries. With a score of 62 Days Lager however isn’t a standout for me given the fairly low carbonation and lack of head on the beer.

Days alcohol-free lager, produced by Scottish brewers ‘Days brewing’ was created by two knowledgeable chaps – Duncan Keith and Mike Gammel – whose goal was to produce 0% beers and highlight the impact alcohol has on wellbeing. A case in point is this brewery’s recent ad campaign where they promised to give customers their money back if they did not “notice a better sexual experience” after drinking it!

As a company that avoids alcohol at all costs Days lager uses a proprietary double fermentation process. This as opposed to dilution or dealcoholization ensures there is no alcohol at the end of the process. Days Brewing also use locally sourced ingredients to keep it as authentic as possible.

So with all this said was Days alcohol-free lager a success or flop? Well, you’ll just need to read the review below to find out.

Is Days Lager any good?

Taste

Days certainly had a fairly distinct taste to it. Not as malty as some other AF lagers I’ve tried nor as fruity as others. Really just a solid balance between the two. For me though the beer was a little flat and didn’t have the body I enjoy with an alcohol-free lager.

Aroma & Appearance

Days lager poured out as with a medium amber colour and as mentioned the beer was bit flat so only produced a wisp of a head. On the nose, you get a decent hoppy floral aroma with a backdrop of sweet malt.

Bonus points

Days certainly gets bonus points thanks to their objective of donating 2% of all sales to mental health organisations. A worthy cause indeed. The beer itself is suitable for vegans but is not gluten-free. Availability wise you’re more likely to find this lager on an online site rather than a supermarket.

Buy Days Alcohol-free Lager

At the time of writing, I could not see this AF beer in any supermarkets but it was available on the following retailers and Days Brewery site.
