Drink review – Non-alcoholic Little Wave by Firebrand has a good balance of flavours and is not too gassy making it a refreshing lager and a perfect accompaniment to a meal.
I hadn’t come across the Firebrand brewery before I came across this non-alcoholic beer, Little Wave, on The Alcohol Free Co site.
Firebrand itself was founded in 2012 in North Cornwall, UK and has gone on to produce a number of beers that expertly combine Cornish spring water with American hops. That said, they have begun to brew a non-alcoholic variant called Little Wave.
Little Wave attempts to capture the essence of a traditional lager, offering a taste experience that mirrors its alcoholic counterparts. If you happen to be in the area Firebrand also have a taproom where you can try out this non-alcoholic beer.
So, the question is, does this alcohol-free Cornish bar deserve a place on MyDryBar? Well, you’ll just need to read my review below to find out.
Is Little Wave Any Good?
Taste
This is a pretty enjoyable non-alcoholic lager that has a decent balance of hops and malts. Carbonation was tight and the level of bitterness not too high. Although it lacked a bit of body Little Wave was still a refreshing lager and I would go back for another.
Aroma & Appearance
Little Wave gave off some classic hoppy lager aromas when the can was opened and you can see in the glass it poured with a light amber colour and low head.
Buy Little Wave lager
At the time of writing, this is not an easy beer to find. I personally bought a can from The Alcohol Free Co site but your best bet is to head to Firebrand’s site itself.
