Drink review – If you are looking for a non-alcoholic alternative to Baileys then Irish Cream by Twisst is a great option. Full of indulgent, creamy flavours this is one of the best non-alcoholic spirits out there.

I thought I had reviewed most non-alcoholic spirit alternatives so when I saw Irish Cream by Twisst it certainly caught my eye; especially as someone who is a fan of Baileys.

Twisst themselves is owned by an Austrian European Food & Beverages business that since 1902 has been creating various refreshments to enjoy. Under the umbrella group Twisst there are four mocktails to try out including a Virgin Mary, Pina Colada, Mojito and the one I tried today the non-alcoholic Irish Cream/ Baileys alternative.

Interestingly Twisst’s mocktails come in a their unique Cartocan’s which is a great eco-friendly alternative to normal packaging. It has the feel of a tough cardboard container but it’s very lightweight and environmentally-friendly.

So the question is is this non-alcoholic Baileys alternative a replacement for that Xmas/ After-dinner treat? Well, you’ll just need my review below to find out.

Is Non-Alcoholic Caramel Cream any good?

Taste

I’ve got to say this was remarkably realistic. It genuinely tasted like an Irish cream. You get heaps of cream, vanilla, caramel and whisky flavours. Ok, it doesn’t have the creaminess of a Baileys but still tastes like something indulgent and alcoholic.  For sure it’s super rich and I couldn’t finish the whole thing but if you want a decadent drink to enjoy after a long day then Twisst’s version of a Baileys will please most.

Aroma & Appearance

When I poured out a glass of Irish Cream the aroma took me back to past Christmases. As you can see, in the glass it has a similar colour and texture of a Baileys.

Bonus points

This particular Twisst mocktail is 0.0% alcohol and gluten-free but not suitable for vegans. The packaging is also incredibly innovative and I think any company that tries to reduce unnecessary packaging is a good thing.  Availability-wise you are most likely to find this at an online specialist site.
