Nirvana Hoppy pale ale
Nirvana is officially the UK’s first no/low dedicated brewhouse. Since their introduction in 2017, they have gone on with much acclaim to create a number of beers including an IPA, stout and the Nirvana pale ale I tried today.
This pale ale, brewed in East London, uses only the finest artisan ingredients to create a hoppy and unique beer.
So does this London beer deserve a spot on My Dry Bar? Well, you’ll just need to read my review below.
Is Nirvana Hoppy Pale Ale any good?
Taste
Well, Nirvana has certainly gone all out on the classic pale ale taste. As soon as it hits your mouth you get an immediate hoppy hit with underlying citrus fruit flavours. It was also pretty bitter which overtook any elements of sweetness and had quite a dry finish. The carbonation was pretty high but I found that it lacked a bit of ‘body’ which I would expect from a punchy IPA. Overall it’s quite a refreshing alcohol-free ale if a little too bitter.
Aroma & Appearance
Super citrusy aromas escaped from the neck as soon as I popped the lid mixed with the smells of mango and pineapple. When poured into the glass the beer had a light amber look and did produce a decent frothy head.
Bonus points
Nirvana’s alcohol-free beer should appeal to most given it’s vegan friendly but it isn’t gluten-free. This ale is also pretty low in sugars and only 30 calories per bottle. The good news is that it isn’t particularly hard to find and you can pick it up from most supermarkets and online retailers.
