Flotzinger Hell Alcohol Free Lager
Flotzinger is a German brewery and one of the oldest in Bavaria having been formed way back in 1543 … so plenty of time to brew the best beers. I came across their alcohol-free lager –Flötzinger Non-Alcoholic Hell – so had to give it a whirl.
Flötzinger uses only the finest ingredients to brew their beers including the best German hops from Tettnang and Hallertau. They carefully remove the alcohol from their beers to avoid any impact on flavour and texture.
The alcoholic version of this lager is a multi-award winner, so the question is, is this German lager more heaven than hell? Well, you’ll just need to read my review below to find out.
Is Flotzinger Hell Lager any good?
Taste
I actually enjoyed this lager quite a lot thanks to its crisp taste and sweet malt flavours. It could have done with a bit more bitterness from the hops but overall made for a tasty alcohol-free lager. In addition carbonation was spot on and had a decent enough body without being too gassy.
Aroma & Appearance
When you pop open a bottle of Flotzinger alcohol-free you certainly get a good whiff of those malty notes. When poured into the glass you can see this lager has a lighgt amber colour with a large frothy head.
