Punchy non-alcoholic drink review
Punchy is a relatively new drinks producer in the UK who has created a portfolio of different non-alcoholic soft drinks.
I came across their drinks via Ocado and was intrigued by their flavour combinations. They currently offer a choice of three soft drinks including blood orange, bitters & cardamom, a peach, ginger and chai drink, and the one I review below … a cucumber, yuzu, and rosemary drink.
To create their drink Punchy only use the finest natural ingredients for their drinks. In the case of the cucumber concoction mentioned above, they choose cucumbers from Germany and Yuzu fruit from Spain.
Essentially these drinks are perfect accompaniments for summer, low in sugar, are suitable for vegan and gluten-free drinkers and come with added vitamin D.
So the question is does Punchy Drinks deserve a place on My Dry Bar? Well, you’ll just need to read my review to find out.
Are Punchy non-alcoholic drinks any good?
Taste
Although it may come in a small can it still packs quite a punch when it comes to flavour. The key ingredients within the drink all shine and no one ingredient dominates the other. The cucumber and yuzu are perfect bed fellows and it’s all brought together with the subtle hint of rosemary. Carbonation is also spot on making it an overall refreshing non-alcoholic drink.
Aroma & Appearance
You can certainly pick out citrus and herby aromas when you first take a whiff of this Punchy drink In the glass it has a transparent/ cloudy ish look to it.
Bonus points
As mentioned above Punchy drinks are suitable for most people who have dietary requirements and want a low-sugar option. I am also a fan of the minimalist graphics they use on the cans, reminiscent of chilling under a Mediterranean sun. Availability wise this can be found in a couple of UK supermarkets or alternatively check out Punchy’s site itself.
