Drink review – Belvoir makes a number of mocktails including this non-alcoholic passionfruit martini. It is pretty tasty but I found it just a bit too sweet for my liking.
This alcohol-free passionfruit martini is the creation of Belvoir Farm, a drinks producer from Leicestershire in the UK
For 40 years Belvoir farm has been creating non-alcoholic drinks (starting with an elderflower cordial) and has gone on to produce quite a range of soft drinks including over 15 different cordials as well as a range of mocktails such as a peach bellini, mojito and the passionfruit martini I tasted today.
It’s worth noting that Belvoir Farm only uses artificial-free, natural ingredients (flavours and colours) so you’ll know you’ll be drinking a premium, delicious drink without the hidden nasties. This passionfruit martini contains both real tropical fruit juices and Madagascan vanilla extract.
An alcoholic passionfruit martini would include vanilla vodka, passion fruit liqueur and lime juice so the question is, does Belvoir Farms make a great alternative to this? Well, you’ll just need to read my review to find out.
Are Belvoir non-alcoholic cocktails any good?
Taste
Well, one thing is for sure if you enjoy sweet juicy drinks then this is going to be a winner for you – and an ideal alcohol-free drink for summer. Personally, for me, I found this passionfruit mocktail to be a bit too sweet and it lacked the bite that the vodka would normally give to the drink. You can pick out elements of passionfruit and some subtle vanilla but overall it was just too sweet for my liking.
Aroma & Appearance
You certainly get some punchy citrus fruit aromas when you pour Belvoir Farm into a glass. As you can see it has a light orange look to it.
Bonus points
This non-alcoholic passionfruit martini is going to be suitable for most drinkers with dietary requirements. It is suitable for both vegetarians and vegans and does not contain gluten. Availability-wise you can find this drink at most UK supermarkets including Sainsbury’s. You may struggle to find it outside the UK.
