Drink review – Kylie’s Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Rosé is a solid choice for those seeking a non-alcoholic option that mirrors the sophistication of its alcoholic counterparts. It is a bit sweet for me but I can imagine others enjoying a glass of this wine on a warm afternoon or just accomapnying a meal.
Here’s one ‘especially for you’. Some things get better with age, such as wine whilst some things don’t seem to age at all, just check out Kylie Minogue! So, when I saw a bottle of Kylie’s non-alcoholic sparkling rose wine in Sainsbury’s I had to try a bottle.
Kylie launched her wines in 2020 via London-based distributor Benchmark Drinks. Since then Kylie’s business has won multiple awards and there are now nine different wines including the non-alcoholic sparkling rose I tried today.
To make this alcohol-free wine Kylie Wines have used a blend of both premium European grapes and green tea (from Yunnan in China) and blended to create this 0% wine.
Well, the question will I feel ‘lucky, lucky, lucky’ after drinking this or be ‘spinning around’ with frustration? Well, you’ll just need to read my review below to find out.
Is Kylie’s non-alcoholic wine any good?
Taste
When I first took a sip of this non-alcoholic rose I found it to be surprisingly reminiscent of traditional sparkling rosé i.e there was a satisfying lightness and carbonation to it. You can certainly pick out some red berry flavours and even a touch of citrus but the sweetness level is a bit too much for me. There is a background of tannins to cut through the sweetness but personally, I think they could have increased it somewhat. Still though a very refreshing sparkling glass of wine.
Aroma & Appearance
When you pop open the cork you get lovely aromas of ripe raspberries and strawberries. In the glass this alcohol-free rosé pours with a light pink colour and low-level carbonation.
Bonus points
This non-alcoholic wine should be suitable for most drinkers with dietary requirements. It is zero alcohol and low in sugars and suitable for both vegans and gluten-free drinkers. When it comes to availability, as mentioned I found it at my local supermarket but you can always try Kylie’s own site itself.
