Implosion IPA beer
Implosion is an alcohol-free IPA from Danish brewery To Øl. To Øl was founded by brewers Tore Gynther and Tobias Emil Jensen over a decade ago and since then has gone on to create a number of drinks including cocktails, ciders and beers including alcohol-free ones such as the IPA I tried today.
Implosion is brewed using a combination of hops (including Hallertau Blanc and Mosaic) and malts (including Maris Otter) which all help to create a beer with big flavour but low ABV.
So is this Danish beer worthy of a spot on the Dry Bar? Well, you’ll just need to read the review below to find out.
Is Implosion IPA any good?
Taste
Hops and citrus flavours dominate the flavours of this IPA. Although Implosion starts with sweet notes it soon gives over to a gentle bitterness that refreshes the palate. If you’re looking for an alcohol-free IPA that recreates the taste of an alcoholic IPA then this is a great beer. Were I to make a grumble I would say it lacks body but overall a tasty beer.
Aroma & Appearance
Similar to the taste, flirty hops and punchy citrus aromas come forth once the can is opened. In the glass, it pours with a cloudyish amber colour and low head.
Bonus points
This beer by To Øl is suitable for vegans but not gluten-free. Availability-wise your best bet is to find a can on an alcohol-free specialist or from the brewer’s own site.
