Drink review – Alcohol-free Chance cider is certainly one of the most refreshing ciders I’ve had in a while. Expect a bittersweet, tangy mouthful when you take your first sip. The carbonation is spot on but personally, it could have done with more bitter cut-through.
As someone who has reviewed and enjoyed a number of non-alcoholic ciders over the years, I was excited to try out Chance cider, the UK’s first dedicated alcohol-free cider.
Chance cider is produced in Worcestershire, UK. They only use the best British apples (including varieties like Dabinett, Michelin, Vicky, and Fiona) to ensure the classic bittersweet cider flavour shines through.
To produce a 0.5% cider, Chance actually reduce their cider down from 8.2% using a balanced liquoring-down process that doesn’t impact the flavour or mouthful.

Is Chance cider any good?

Alcohol-free Chance cider is certainly one of the most refreshing ciders I’ve had in a while. Expect a bittersweet, tangy mouthful when you take your first sip. The carbonation is spot on, and there’s a gentle fizz that doesn’t leave you feeling bloated. Personally, I did find it a tad sweet and it could have done with more bitter cut-through but overall it made for a refreshing and enjoyable drink.
Aroma & Appearance
Lots of fruity apple aromas are released when you crack open a bottle of Chance cider. In the glass, it has a medium amber look with a short frothy head.
