Jever fun alcohol-free
Alcohol-free Jever Fun is brewed by German brewers Jever. They have been around since 1848 and are well known for their popular pilsner beer, brewed under the strict ‘Reinheitsgebot law’; a law which says beer can only be made by using malted grain, water, yeast and hops.
Jever actually were one of the first breweries to create a mass-market alcohol-free German beer – all the way back in 1991 – and produced a sugar-free and alcohol-free pilsner beer called ‘Fun’. Unlike other brewers who halt the fermentation process early to create an alcohol-free beer, Jever removes the alcohol directly.
I’ve had quite a few decent alcohol-free German beers. The question is is Jever one of them? Well, you’ll just need to read the review below to find out.
Is Jever Fun any good?
This is a pretty decent and drinkable alcohol-free beer. For me its the taste of hops and sweet maltiness that dominate the overall flavour of Jever Fun. It has a decent body, not too thin, with good carbonation running through it making it a very refreshing beer to drink.
Aroma & Appearance
The aroma of Jever is certainly dominated by the hops which sparkle up the nose when you take a whiff. In the glass, it pours with a light amber colour and a thin foamy head.
This beer is going to appeal to a number of drinkers thanks to it having less than 0.5% alcohol content, zero sugar and suitable for vegans; note that it isn’t suitable for gluten-free drinkers. Availability-wise you can now get this from a number of online retailers and supermarkets.
