ISH Alcohol-Free Daiquiri
If you have not already read my last review on an ISH cocktail then check out the one on SpritzISH. This scored really well on My Dry Bar so I had high expectations when I heard about their alcohol-free Daquiri cocktail.
ISH are a Danish creator of premade non-alcoholic cocktails including the aforementioned Spritz, Daquiri as well as sparkling wines (which I am sure I’ll review soon). Their DaquirISH takes its inspiration from the classic Daquiri cocktail which was created in Cuba, 1898, using white rum, lime juice and sugar syrup, combining and pouring over ice; a very refreshing sweet and citrus cocktail.
ISH actually use their multi-award winning alcohol-free rum called RumISH das the base of this cocktail and then carefully combined it with lime and raw sugar to produce a sweet and sour cocktail that is just 0.2% ABV.
So was the daiquiri better than the spritz? Well, you’ll just need to read the review to find out.
Is this alcohol-free Daiquiri any good?
Taste
First for the good news. It certainly tastes like a classic Daquiri. You get an immediate hit of the sharp lime flavour but this is soon tempered by the sweetness of the sugar. The issue I have with this is that it is soooo sweet. The sweetness simply takes over on the flavour front making it hard to enjoy the rum flavour which struggles to cut through. If you are someone who really does enjoy super sweet alcohol-free drinks then DaquirISH is going to be a perfect match but if you’re not a fan of sugary cocktails then you may want to check other offerings.
Aroma & Appearance
DaquirIsh had an incredibly realistic citrus aroma once the can was opened. Close your eyes and inhale and you can easily believe you were about to drink an alcoholic Daquiri cocktail. When poured into the glass Daquirish had a cloudy amber glow to it.
Bonus points
ISH’s premade cocktails are pretty appealing to most as they are gluten-free and vegan friendly. DaquirISH is a bit punchier on the calories at 46 per 100 ml but it is still significantly lower than the real thing. The challenge you’ll have with this is that outside of Denmark it is pretty tricky to find, although we did find it available on an online specialist.
