Drink review – Only With Love Juicy AF beer is refreshing and tasty. Expect sweet mango flavours combined with a bitter background. A very refreshing alcohol-free beer indeed.
Another day, another interesting craft brewery is on the scene. This time I am pleased to have come across Only with Love, a UK-based craft brewery founded in 2020.
They call themselves a ‘wellbeing’ brewery but what does that actually mean? Well for starters (and good news for MyDryBar) they produce non-alcoholic beers and kombucha but sustainability and the environment is also very important to them (seen in their stance on packaging and delivery).
Although they do create some interesting full-strength beers, at this moment in time there are two alcohol-free beers to choose from – an alcohol-free pineapple pale ale and the alcohol-free mango pale ale I tried today.
To make their alcohol-free mango pale they take the foundations of Reboot (their pale ale) which features big hoppy flavours (thanks to a blend of Columbus, El Dorado and Mosaic) and combine it with juicy mango and then use a clever fermentation process to bring the alcohol content all the way down to <0.5% ABV.
So the question is is this gold medal winner (yes gold!) in the European Beer Challenge 2022 worthy of a space at MyDryBar? Well, you’ll just need my review below to find out.
Is Juicy AF any good?
Taste
One word. Yum! Normally I am a bit cynical around fruit flavoured beers but I can see why this alcohol-free beer was an award winner. Refreshing, sweet and tangy mango flavours with a background of bitter hops make this a very tasty flavour combination indeed. My only grip was that it was a bit lite in the body and could have done with a bit more carbonation. Still, a very taste AF beer that I recommend trying out.
Aroma & Appearance
Lots of rich fruity notes hit your nose when you open a can of this beer. As you can see, in the glass, Juicy AF pours with a cloudy tangerine colour, isnt really any head to think of.
Bonus points
Firstly I just want to point out the packaging. Brash, colourful and playful – certainly stands out from the crowd. This Only With Love AF beer is also vegan friendly.
