Giesen are wine producers from New Zealand who have been creating delicious alcoholic and non-alcoholic wines for over four decades.
Starting with traditional wines Giesen has, over the years, branched out into the growing ‘alcohol-free’ wines market and now offers five zero-alcohol wines and two low-alcohol wines.
Currently, their Pinot Gris, Rose, and Premium Red non-alcoholic wines are selling well. Taking the Pinot Gris as an example Giesen creates this wine by taking a premium, full-strength New Zealand Pinot Gris and then using spinning cone technology to remove the alcohol.
Along with the alcohol content they also remove the aroma which is then added later in the process so the wine doesn’t lose its distinctive notes. The product is finally given a splash of grape juice to create a rounded and crisp white wine.
