As regular readers of MyDryBar may know, I’ve just finished an article on mood-enhacing drinks so its interesting timing that shortly after Sentia reached out asking me to try out a box of their mood-enhancing spirits.

Sentia was set up by Professor David Nutt (a  neuropsychopharmacologist) in order to create his “vision of bringing safer, better choices to adult social drinkers”.

Sentia started in 2020 in the UK and currently has a range of different products to choose from including mood-enhancing spirits and alcohol-free beers.

Their non-alcoholic spirits are crafted using a proprietary GABAergic botanical blend designed to support the brain’s natural GABA system. Gaba helps to calm nerve activity, reduce excitability, and promote relaxation.

There are currently three different Gaba spirit varieties to choose from including black, red and the gold I tried out today.

Sentia’s Gaba Gold uses a very interesting collection of Ashwagandha, Hops, Damiana, Siberian Ginseng, Schisandra Berry to achieve calm and lift the mood. It’s also worth pointing out Gaba Gold contains no alcohol, is gluten-free and low in calories.

I poured some Gaba Gold into a glass, added tonic and ice and gave it a swirl to create this refreshing drink.
