Drink review – Three Spirit has created a couple of interesting and unique alcohol-free wines – Sharp and Spark. If you are after a left-field wine adventure then give these a go. A non-alcoholic wine that in my mind is worth a try.
I wrote about Three Spirit a while ago, reviewing their range of mood-enhancing alcohol-free drinks (here’s Social Elixir as an example). I enjoyed their range so was particularly happy to find out they had launched two alcohol-free sparkling wines under the group name ‘Blurred Vines’ which includes Spark and Sharp.
Sharp (aka the sunshine maker) and the one I tried today, Spark (aka the party starter) are both wines that have a number of interesting ingredients. Expect to find teas and herbs, fruits and ferments as well as adaptogens, vitamins and amino acids.
Three Spirit’s Spark wine has been created using a number of ingredients to create a crisp and interesting drink that has the added benefit (thanks to natural caffeine from the tea) of lifting your mood too.
So the question is, is Three Spirit’s collection of alcohol-free wines as good as their mood-enhancing spirits? Well, you’ll just need to read my review below to find out.
Is Three Spirit sparkling wine any good?
Taste
Hmmm. Not sure what to make of this. Certainly unique. If you are after a traditional sparkling wine experience forget about it. It actually tastes similar to someone who took a Three Spirit elixir and shook it with a prosecco. You certainly get some big and bold fruit flavours and there is background sour/ bitterness from the tea which isn’t too unpleasant. That said it was one I’m glad I tried but probably won’t be going back to. A bit too eccentric for my taste-buds!
Aroma & Appearance
Red fruit aromas dominate this bottle of alcohol-free wine and in the glass, it pours with a heady raspberry colour and a fizzy head.
Bonus points
Three Spirit really do care what goes into their drinks and make sure as many people can enjoy them. This is the reason their collection of Blurred Vines wines are low in sugar, have no alcohol, are vegan, suitable for gluten-free drinkers and use ethically sourced ingredients from regenerative farming.
