Spritz Aperitif definitely deserves its gold trophy at the European Wines and Spirits Awards. The Sir James 101 team have created a well-balanced non-alcoholic drink where you can really taste the various bitter herbs countering the extracts of orange. This is the perfect summer drink or one to enjoy after a meal.
Sainsbury’s Pop Zero has a very similar flavour profile to an alcoholic Buck’s Fizz. You get sweet tangy orange flavours with a backdrop of acidic bitterness from the wine. Refreshing and not too gassy this would be a great way to start your Christmas festivities without feeling tipsy.
Cognato’s alcohol-free sparkling wine is full of citrus and earthy notes that were surprisingly refreshing and crisp. If you are looking for a super-sweet wine then this isn’t for you, its more suited to those with an ‘adult’ palate.
If you like your non-alcoholic cocktails super colourful and sweet then this Cosmopolitan will be right up your street. If, however, you are after something with a sharp/ bitter edge you may want to give this drink a miss.
Although it tastes like a pale ale I found ‘Wish You Were Beer’ just too bitter in my opinion and with a lack of body, there are better non-alcoholic pale ales out there to try.
I found Lyre’s Classico to be a great addition to the non-alcoholic sparkling wine category. The fruity flavours are well balanced with the slightly bitter and tart backdrop. Overall a refreshing drink that is perfect before a meal.
Magners 0.0% is a decent enough non-alcoholic cider with lots of punchy apple flavours, I just found it a bit too sweet for my liking.
Hug0.0% is a great non-alcoholic Spritz bursting with flavour. If you are looking for a refreshing prosecco mocktail that won’t give you a headache you can’t go wrong with this tipple.
