Non-alcoholic Jaipur IPA

DRINK SUMMARY

Type – non-alcoholic IPA
Alcohol content – 0.5%
MyDryBar Rating – 67/100
Drink review – Non-alcoholic Jaipur is a pretty decent IPA with plenty of hoppiness thanks to the six different varieties of hops used in its brewing. Personally, I would have preferred a bit more body to this beer and it was a tad watery but overall a good effort by Thornbridge.

This particular non-alcoholic beer caught my eye as I had visited the city it was named after relatively recently … Jaipur.

Jaipur is not only the capital of India’s Rajasthan state but also the name of one Thornbridge’s most famous beers and arguably the UK’s first craft IPA. I have tried other Thornbrige AF beers in the past including Zero Five Pale Ale and Early Bird IPA both of whom were above average.

The Thornbridge brewery was founded twenty years ago in its original setting of Thornbridge Hall in the UK, creating award-winning beers. Since then they have moved to Bakewell, opened up a bar and pizza kitchen and most importantly non-alcoholic beers including Green Mountain Hazy Alcohol-Free IPA and the Alcohol-Free Jaipur IPA I tried today.

To produce the alcohol-free Jaipur IPA Thornbridge use the same ingredients as the alcoholic version including a punchy hop combo of Chinook, Centennial, Ahtanum, Simcoe, Columbus and Cascade hops … so expect big flavours here.

So the question is will there alcohol-free Jaipur beer deserve a place on MyDryBar? Well, you’ll just need to read my review below to find out.

Is Alcohol-free Jaipur any good?

Taste

Non-alcoholic Jaipur is a pretty decent IPA. As expected the hoppiness is there in abundance thanks to the six different varieties used in its brewing. The bitter hops are nicely balanced with some sweet fruity malt flavours which overall helps to produce a refreshing beer. I would have preferred a bit more body to this beer and it was a tad watery but overall a good effort by Thornbridge.

Aroma & Appearance

Fruity, sweet aromas are released when you crack open a bottle of Jaipur. In the glass, it has a light amber colour and pours with a fairly luck-lustre head.
