Drink review – Brewdog’s alcohol-free Elvis wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either. On the first sip there are some interesting grapefruit and citrus flavours but I found there to be a lack of hops and malty notes that I would associate with a classic IPA.
I hadn’t reviewed a non-alcoholic Brewdog beer in a while (see Nanny State) so when I came across their Elvis AF grapefruit infused IPA on Ocado I knew I had to try it out.
Since 2007 Brewdog have been producing iconic beers and become one of the leading brewers in Europe. To cater to demand they have released alcohol-free versions of their classics including Punk AF, Hazy AF, Lost AF and of course Elvis AF.
Elvis AF is a non-alcoholic IPA where you can expect lots of hoppy and citrus notes and, as the name suggests, expect some great sweet and tart grapefruit notes too.
The question is Elvis worthy of a space at MyDryBar or should he ‘leave the building’? Well, you’ll just need to read my review below to find out.
Is Brewdog Elvis IPA any good?
Taste
This wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either. On the first sip of Elvis AF there were some interesting grapefruit and citrus flavours but I found there to be a lack of hops and malty notes that I would associate with a classic IPA. It was pretty refreshing and I happily finished off a can with my Indian meal but compared to Nanny State it lacked body and bitterness.
Aroma & Appearance
There were some interesting citrus and pine aromas when I cracked open a can of Elvis. In the glass is poured with a medium amber colour and not much of a head.
