Drink review – Sober Brummie makes for a decent non-alcoholic stout with plenty of rich flavours from the malt. It also has a good body and carbonation was spot on. My only criticism of this beer was that it was a tad too sweet compared to other AF stouts, still a decent tipple.
Stouts have certainly had a resurgence over the past few years (just look at how Guinness is doing) so it’s no surprise I’ve seen an increasing number of alcohol-free stouts on the shelf including this one … Sober Brummie stout.
This stout is produced by the Birmingham Brewing Company, UK, who have been creating a range of beers for just shy of a decade.
This particular non-alcoholic stout is brewed with roasted malts and oatmeal to create a bold body which you expect from a stout beer. It is also infused with nitrogen so it pours smoothly with a velvety head. It’s also worth noting that all Brummie beers are vegan and suitable for gluten-free drinkers.

Is Sober Brummie Stout any good?
Taste
Truth be told Sober Brummie made for a decent non-alcoholic stout with plenty of rich flavours from the malt. It also had a good body and carbonation was spot on. My only criticism of this beer was that it was a tad too sweet compared to other AF stouts, still a decent tipple.
Aroma & Appearance
Nice malty, stout aromas are released as soon as you crack open a can of Sober Brummie. In the glass, it pours with a classic dark colour and a quickly diminishing frothy head.
