Drink review – Firebrand’s Shorebreak is a very tasty alcohol-free pale ale and is worthy of its recent award. With this beer, you get an abundance of hoppy flavours and a refreshing balance of bitter and sweet notes with a fruity background. It is also well carbonated, and I didn’t feel too bloaty after finishing a can. Overall, a recommended refreshing non-alcoholic ale.

I’ve been wanting to try this alcohol-free beer by Firebrand ever since I went down to Cornwall, and I’ve finally gotten around to reviewing their hazy non-alcoholic ale – Shorebreak.
Firebrand are a UK-based brewer in Cornwall who has been producing interesting (and award-winning) beers for over a decade, including their famous Patchwork Rocket Pale.
There are currently three different alcohol-free beers on offer from Firebrand including Blue Balls an alcohol-free IPA, Little Wave, an alcohol-free lager and Shorebreak, the hazy pale ale I tried today.
Firebrand crafts their beers using only all-natural ingredients such as Cornish spring water and American hops (Shorebreak is brewed with Simcoe, Citra and Cascade hops), and then use the latest technology to filter out alcohol, resulting in a flavoursome and refreshing beer.
So is this alcohol-free ale deserving of its accolade of being “Winner of Best Alcohol-Free Pale Ale at the 2025 World Beer Awards“? Well, you’ll just need to read my review below to find out.

Lots of hoppy aromas fill the air when you crack open a can of Shorebreak. Inthe glass it pours with a hazy amber colour and a full thick frothy head.
