Drink review – Magners 0.0% is a decent enough non-alcoholic cider with lots of punchy apple flavours, I just found it a bit too sweet for my liking.
For me, the name Magners immediately brings images of apples, farms and bees buzzing around, synonymous with cider making. Their marketing has had its effect on me over the decades so I was happy to see they have created a non-alcoholic version of their cider aka Magners 0.0%.
For a potted history on Magners, this Irish company has been creating cider since 1935. Since that date they have made their cider using 17 different types of apples … and continue to follow the same recipe even for the alcohol-free version.
Unlike the traditional 4.5% ABV of the standard Magners cider, 0.0% contains no alcohol, is only 66 calories per bottle and both gluten-free and vegan friendly.

Is alcohol-free Magners any good?

This non-alcoholic version of Magners is actually pretty decent. For those familiar with the alcoholic version you get lots of fruity bittersweet apple flavours all combined with a solid carbonation. If anything it is a bit sweet and lacks the bite of original Magners but its certainly worth giving a go, especially for anyone looking for a solid summer drink.
Aroma & Appearance
As soon as you pop the lid on a bottle of Magners 0.0% you get the familiar sour apple aromas which are very pleasing. In the glass the cider has a classic golden colour and short forthy head.
