Drink review – St Austell Brewery have knocked it out the park with their non-alcoholic IPA Proper Job. On first sip you are greeted by plenty of hoppy IPA flavours that really bring this beer to life. Thankfully, there is also a background of sweet malt that cuts through the bitterness creating a tasty non-alcoholic IPA indeed.
As a digital marketer, I remember my father telling me “when are you going to get a proper job”. Well, pops looks like I found one in the shape of Proper Job non-alcoholic IPA.
Proper Job is the creation of St Austell, a brewery founded all the way back in 1851. Since then this brewery has gone on to create some classic ales, stouts and IPAs, including Tribute. However, its their latest addition, non-alcoholic Proper Job that I tried today.
To create 0.5% Proper Job and its associated bittersweet flavous St Austell use a combo of Cascade, Chinook and Willamette hops along with Maris Otter Pale malt for sweetness.
