The Rise of CBD Drinks

CBD is having a serious moment. What started as a wellness buzzword has officially become a beverage aisle staple. From sparkling seltzers to mood-balancing teas, CBD drinks are showing up everywhere. Over the past few months, MyDryBar has reviewed a number of CBD non-alcoholic drinks. So what’s the story behind these stress-sipping superstars?

If you’ve been exploring a low- or no-alcohol lifestyle, you’ve likely found yourself in search of drinks that feel elevated—without the alcohol. CBD beverages do exactly that. They provide the same kind of “ritual” that makes reaching for a glass of wine so comforting: something cold, flavorful, and a little indulgent.

CBD drinks are a perfect addition to your dry bar or fridge lineup because they align with mindful consumption. You can sip one at brunch, after a workout, or while relaxing with friends—and still feel totally in control.

What Exactly Are CBD Drinks?

CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a compound found in the hemp plant. Unlike its psychoactive cousin THC, CBD won’t get you high. Instead, it’s known for its potential to promote calm, reduce inflammation, and support overall wellness. When infused into beverages—like water, tea, juice, or soda—CBD offers a low-key way to enjoy these benefits with zero fuss.

Most drinks contain between 10 to 25 milligrams of CBD per serving, making them easy to dose and perfect for sipping throughout the day. Some are made with full-spectrum or broad-spectrum hemp extract, while others use CBD isolate—so you can pick what works best for your body and goals.

Why People Are Choosing CBD Over Alcohol

The sober-curious movement isn’t just about ditching alcohol—it’s about redefining how we unwind. CBD drinks offer that sweet spot between relaxation and alertness, making them a popular alternative for people who want to take the edge off without the side effects of booze.

Here’s why people are making the switch:

No hangovers: Say goodbye to the headache and next-day brain fog.

Natural stress relief: Many users report a calming effect after sipping CBD.

Sleep support: Some blends are designed to help you fall (and stay) asleep.

Health-conscious ingredients: Most brands prioritize low sugar, no artificial flavors, and added botanicals like chamomile, ashwagandha, or lemon balm.

Whether you’re heading to a social event or winding down solo after a long day, CBD drinks offer a clean, convenient way to relax.

One of the reasons CBD drinks are thriving? Variety. There’s something for every taste and every mood. Here’s a closer look at what’s out there:

Sparkling Waters & Seltzers: These are the most popular category—and for good reason. With crisp bubbles and flavors like blackberry lavender or grapefruit rosemary, they feel refreshing and sophisticated.

Still Waters: Perfect for hydration on the go, these are often infused with minerals and electrolytes for an extra wellness boost.

Herbal Teas: Think calming blends with CBD, chamomile, and mint for a pre-bedtime ritual that rivals your nighttime wine habit.

Functional Wellness Tonics: These blends go beyond hydration, pairing CBD with ingredients like ginseng, maca, or turmeric to support energy, focus, or digestion.

CBD Mocktails: For the party crowd, non-alcoholic CBD versions of mojitos, margaritas, or aperitifs give all the vibes without the buzz.

Many of these drinks are also vegan, gluten-free, and low-calorie—checking all the boxes for wellness-conscious consumers.

How CBD Drinks Work in the Body

healthy group

When you consume CBD in a drink, it enters your system through the digestive tract and liver, which means it takes a bit longer to kick in compared to a tincture under the tongue—but the effects may last longer, too.

The CBD interacts with your body’s endocannabinoid system, which plays a role in regulating mood, sleep, appetite, and pain. It helps bring the body back into balance—without disrupting your day.

Because of the slower onset, many people find that CBD drinks offer a more gradual, mellow experience that’s perfect for sipping slowly.

Some of the best CBD drinks

Over the past few years we’ve tried a number of CBD infused drinks below are a few we’ve picked out. Also make sure you check out the ‘drinks with added benefits‘ section for reviews on other adaptogenic drinks without the alcohol.

cbd trip

TRIP makes a very tasty CBD drink indeed, I especially enjoyed the refreshing sparkling mint flavour. That said I didn’t feel any noticeable chilled vibes, even after an hour or so but that doesn’t mean it won’t have a different impact on others.

cbd spirit

This was one of the earliest CBD drink I reviewed at MyDryBar. Although there are some interesting gin vibes from this product, overall, the flavour didn’t really appeal compared to others.

sparkling CBD drink

Goodrays have created four different sparkling CBD drinks. I taste-tested their elderflower and yuzu drink which I found very tasty and refreshing although the CBD impact was minimal.

Final Pour

CBD drinks are more than a fleeting health craze—they’re a flavorful, functional, and forward-thinking addition to the modern beverage scene. Whether you’re looking to de-stress, improve sleep, or just enjoy something delicious that isn’t alcohol, these beverages offer a new way to toast to your wellness.

So go ahead, stock your dry bar with something that soothes your soul. You deserve it.
