Drink review – Although initially, M&S’s non-alcoholic mojito tastes like a good alternative to the classic cocktail it soon becomes too sour and tart so the lime flavour dominates all the others.
I’ve been pretty impressed with Marks and Spencer’s non-alcoholic drinks so far and their range continues to grow (presumably down to the current demand for low and no alcohol products). So when I came across M&S’s non-alcoholic mojito I knew I had to give it a taste.
I’ve tried three other non-alcoholic mojitos in the past with the best being Savyll’s alcohol-free mojito, hitting a decent 68 points.
For those not in the know, a mojito is a classic cocktail originating from Cuba and traditionally made using rum, sugar, lime juice, soda water, and mint; so you can certainly expert tart and sweet flavours.
According to M&S they make their low alcohol mojito using lime juice and mint flavouring and what they call ‘a golden spice distillate’; also worth noting this drink is suitable for vegans.
So, the question is, does this latest Marks and Spencer mocktail top the non-alcoholic mojito charts? Well, you’ll just need to read the review to find out.
Is M&S Non-alcoholic Mojito any good?
Taste
Well, on the first taste of M&S’s non-alcoholic mojito you are greeted by some familiar flavours found in a mojito cocktail. That said it did start to become too citrusy and sour for me and I didn’t really get any other tastes; missing out on the rum and mint flavours. It was drinkable but to be honest I couldn’t do more than a small can of this given the sourness of this concoction.
Aroma & Appearance
Loads of citrus and lime aromas are released as soon as you open a can of this non-alcoholic mojito. In the glass this carbonated drink has a light cloudy look.
