Drink review – Menabrea Zero Zero is a decent non-alcoholic lager with plenty of refreshing malt and hoppy notes. If you are looking for a tasty alcohol-free beer perfect for a night out or evening in, then Menabrea’s Italian beer is a safe bet.
Who doesn’t love a crisp alcohol-free Italian lager? So when I saw Menabrea Zero Zero for sale I knew I had to give it a go.
Like me you may not heard of Menabrea before but they are Italy’s longest established continuously active brewery, still using ingredients of the traditional recipe. They are actually still in the same location as they were back in the 19th century, using the pure waters from the Biella Alps.
Birra Menabrea has seven different beers on offer including their non-alcoholic lager called Zero Zero. To produce this beer they use a special bottom-fermenting yeast that ensures a balanced taste without the alcohol.
So the question is, is this non-alcoholic lager worthy of a place on My Dry Bar? Well, you’ll just need to read my review below to find out.
Is Non-alcoholic Menabrea lager any good?
Taste
Menabrea Zero Zero is a pretty decent non-alcoholic lager with plenty of refreshing malt and hoppy notes. The body was light but not too watery and the carbonation was spot on. If you are looking for a tasty all-rounder then Menabrea’s offering is a safe bet.
Aroma & Appearance
You get some classic hoppy lager aromas when you crack open a bottle of Menabrea. In the glass it has a light amber colour with a short frothy head.
