It’s been almost a year since I last reviewed an alcohol-free Cosmopolitan (Mocktails’ Mockapolitan) and this time the mocktail comes from the chaps over at Highball.
Highball are a British non-alcoholic cocktail producer led by husband and wife duo – Red and Kate Johnson. They were struggling to find tasty and convenient cocktails they could crack open and enjoy at home … so decided to make their own. Since then Highball have gone one to create six different alcohol-free cocktails including GnT, Spritz, Mojito and the one I tried today … a Cosmo.
For those not in the know, the flavour profile of a classic Cosmopolitan cocktail includes sharp citrus notes (from cranberry and lime) with a sweet background (from the orange liqueur) – so this is one for the sweet and fruity cocktail lovers.
It’s worth noting that this drink is 0% alcohol, made from 100% natural ingredients and they use agave nectar to get the sweetness tang.
So, the question is, as usual, does this non-alcoholic mocktail deserve a permanent place on MyDryBar? Well, you’ll just need to read the review to find out.

Taste
How to describe this Cosmo mocktail? Well, if we’re of the same age you may remember sucking on a strawberry Calippo and there was always a bit of sugary, fruity syrup left at the bottom of the packaging … this is what this mocktail tasted like. Nice but just too intensely sweet. If it had had the expected tart citrus sharpness to cut through it would have been vastly improved.

Aroma & Appearance
You can certainly pick out some citrus and berry aromas when you open up a Highball Cosmopolitan. In the glass, you can see it has the classic bright red Cosmo cocktail colour.
